The scarab is the god Khepri (‘he who comes into existence’), representing the rising sun.
Scarabs of various materials, glazed steatite being most common, form an important, realistic collectible; Crafted to capture the authenticity of the artifacts found in the class of Egyptian antiquities.
The base is inscribed with designs or hieroglyphs and is simultaneously amulets and seals.
