I'm not 100% sure of the purpose of this bowl - there's a small section behind the woman that appears to be to hold something small like matches or toothpicks. It appears that the young woman is leaning over a large shell (the bowl) with rocks under her feet and water splashing around the bottom of the shell. The detail on this piece is amazing! Even her fingernails and toenails are well defined.
There are no chips or cracks that I can find, but a lot of the piece feels very rough because of the way it was made. The pink triangle Royal Dux mark has mostly come off of the base though. Only a small piece of it is left. The bowl has what feels like an unglazed or matte finish and has gotten a little dirty over the years. I haven't tried to clean it at all.
