“Chrysanthemums" antique wood block print on handmade washi paper of artwork by Mitsuoki Tosa. Mitsuoki Tosa was the eldest son of Mitsunori. He studies very thoroughly works of the great mastors of Japan and China besides studying those of his predecessors. He is concidered one of three great masters of the Tosa school, and is specially noted for his realistic drawings. The picture of the chrysanthemums here produced is a masterpiece full of noble and refined sentiments. He died at the age of seventy five on the September of the fourth year of Genroku.
