The APC APDU9970 is a vertical rack power distribution unit that delivers switched power to up to twenty-four devices while leaving every rack unit free for servers and networking gear. It is aimed at data centers, network closets, and lab environments where staff need dependable power delivery, the ability to reboot devices remotely, and clear insight into energy use.

This model accepts either 120 volt or 208 volt input and is rated for 30 amps, providing a generous 4992 VA load capacity. A ten foot power cord with a NEMA L14-30P plug lets you reach distant wall drops or overhead busways without extension cords.

The outlet array is designed so you can mix standard IT hardware with higher draw equipment on a single strip. Sixteen NEMA 5-20R outlets handle typical servers, switches, or test gear, seven C13 or C15-compatible outlets support enterprise hardware that ships with IEC power leads, and one C19 or C21 outlet is reserved for a blade chassis, storage shelf, or other high current device.

Because the unit is part of the APC Rack PDU 9000 Switched family, each outlet can be powered on, turned off, or cycled from a web browser or through existing management tools that speak SNMP or Redfish. Sequencing features help you bring equipment online in the right order after maintenance or a power event, reducing in-rush current and avoiding tripped breakers.

Installation is straightforward. The 0U form factor mounts against a rear or side rail so airflow and cable paths stay clear, and the cUL listing confirms the unit meets North American safety requirements.
