Working together, the units deliver a total wireless throughput of up to 2976 Mb/s across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, so phones, laptops, smart TVs, and gaming consoles get the bandwidth they need without competing for signal.

When all three nodes are placed around the building, the system can cover as much as 5000 square feet. That reach makes it helpful in multi-story houses, open-plan apartments, or workspaces where concrete walls or long hallways often interrupt a traditional router’s signal.

Setup stays straightforward through the free ASUS Router app. A guided wizard walks you from unboxing to a live network in a few minutes, and the same app lets you check device lists, apply parental controls, or prioritize traffic for streaming or online gaming. If you prefer hands-free control, the system also responds to Alexa voice commands. You can broadcast one network name for the entire home or split the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands into separate SSIDs, and the AiMesh feature allows you to add other compatible ASUS routers later if your coverage needs grow.

Each node carries two Gigabit Ethernet ports. They can connect wired devices such as desktop PCs, smart TVs, or network-attached storage, or they can link the nodes with an Ethernet backhaul for even greater stability when walls or appliances might interfere with wireless links.

Security features come built in. WPA3 encryption locks down the wireless traffic, AiProtection powered by Trend Micro guards against malicious sites, and an integrated VPN server lets remote workers or travelers reach their home network securely.
