The Black Box ICD107A is a repeater that joins RS422 and RS485 networks and keeps data flowing smoothly over long distances. It regenerates the signal and isolates one device or branch of devices from another, which helps protect sensitive equipment and reduces the impact of electrical interference often found on factory floors.

By refreshing the line, the unit can extend a data circuit by up to 4000 feet and accommodate 32 additional nodes. This added reach is handy when you need to connect a row of machines on a production line, link remote pumps in a utilities plant, or tie together building automation controllers that sit on opposite ends of a large facility.

The repeater works with both 2-wire and 4-wire installations, and a simple selector lets you match data rates anywhere up to 460.8 kbps. Built-in support for Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU allows quick integration with most PLC, SCADA, or sensor networks without extra converters or settings.

A housing that snaps onto a DIN rail keeps control cabinets neat and makes field replacement quick. The design continues to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit and across a wide input voltage range, so the device remains reliable in outdoor enclosures, cold storage areas, or high-heat mechanical rooms.
