Cizhou Ware Meiping-Style Brown Vase With Carved Lotus Blossom Design

Beige lotus blossom carved floral design on this brown pottery vase is unique and interesting. 9.25" Tall x 21.5" around. 1.5" opening. This ancient Chinese type of pottery is known for its robust shape and distinctive carved decoration, often featuring floral patterns and is still being used today. I believe this one was not from that ancient period. Here are some key features of Cizhou meiping-style vases: Typically made from stoneware using a technique called sgraffito.
