I inherited numerous Olympic prints, and this original print is in excellent condition. It was in storage for decades and has never been hung, framed, or put on display.
Garry Winogrand is one of the 15 nationally known artists commissioned by The Olympic Committee for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California.

Garry Winogrand, one of America's best-known photographers, has captured in this single image the power and the grace of the Olympics. The weightlifter is undeniably a massive, masculine force, but his humanness is revealed in the gentle caress of the weights and tender smile. This is a contemporary Atlas, a mythical god embodied in the form of a mortal being.
