Large museum quality specimen! Very bold, teal gem silica is found on the main face in its botryoidal form. Matte and colorful turquoise gradient of chrysocolla is on the back side. Some botryoids are sliced and reveal the layered, translucent structure of the silica layers. Every facet of this specimen has something to offer. Visually striking pieces like this are hard to come by!
Gem silica and chrysocolla are typically found in copper ore deposit veins, where they can take on a massive, crusted, or botryoidal form. Gem silica (also known as chrysocolla chalcedony) is the druzy or gemmy form of chrysocolla with quartz, and it is exceptionally more rare than its constituent components.
