Marvelous Wood Afzelia Xylay

I believe Afzelia Xylay is a rather rare wood type, even among wooden shaft mechanical pencils. The wood grain is similar to Hawaiian Koa, but with the addition of vertical, wavy grain, creating a beautiful contrast.

In terms of writing feel, the low center of gravity allows you to write without much force, and you can clearly feel the "clicking" sensation.

I've only used it a few times, so as far as I can see, there are no scratches or scuffs. However, this is a personal item, so please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection.

This is a wooden mechanical pencil for drafting, achieving stability during writing by using our uniquely developed metal fittings and a low center of gravity. The 4mm guide pipe provides good visibility of the characters while writing. The grip has five lines engraved to improve grip. It has a lead hardness indicator window for 2H, H, F, HB, B, and 2B. The wooden shaft is finished with raw lacquer.

Originally from Southeast Asia, it is particularly rare among Afzelia species, and this unusual pattern is called "XYLAY" or "Lay". Oil & wax finish allows you to enjoy the aging process.
