This is an exceptional handmade storyteller doll crafted and signed by Persingula Tan of the Jemez Pueblo. Storyteller dolls are an important Native American art form, symbolizing the oral tradition of passing down stories, culture, and history through generations.

This particular piece is rare and unusual because it features 13 children, more than typically seen (most storytellers have 5–8). The abundance of children emphasizes the richness of tradition and the central role of the storyteller in Pueblo life.
• Artist: Persingula Tan (signed)
• Tribe/Pueblo: Jemez, New Mexico
• Height: approx. 7 inches tall
• Material: Natural clay pottery, hand-painted details
• Design: Mother storyteller in a black dress with turquoise necklace, surrounded by 13 children in traditional dress
• Era: Likely late 20th century

Condition: Overall in good vintage condition. One child is missing part of a hand, but this does not detract from the presence, beauty, or symbolic meaning of the piece.
