The letter is 2-pages (front and back) on officoal) USNA Naval Academy letterhead. He discusses attending 2 football games Army vs Navy & Navy vs Penn during tha 1958 season (his Freshman year). In only a few years he would go on to manage the Navy football team. The rest of his Navy career was historic as detailed below l.
The letter was recently purchased in New London, Connecticut from the estate of 2-star Rear Admiral Groebel who was the manager of the Navy football team in 1963. He went on to finish #26 in his class upon graduation.
His career took him around the world highlighted by commanding Group #2 Submarine Fleet of the Atlantic Fleet. You'll receive: a hand-written double sided letter from Midshipman Groebel to his mother writing about the Navy vs Miami football game. It is dated Oct 7, 1961.
