This is an original movie poster for 1958’s The Blob starring Steve McQueen. This poster is unique in many ways, with the enormous size of 47x63” being noticed first.
Second, it’s cool art design and illustration featuring a buffed out body image, but realistic face of Steve McQueen. Plus, if not knowing this was a Poster for The Blob, you could mistake it for something else. At first glance, you might assume it was a movie about a huge planetary riot or something, not a movie about a gelatinous lethal alien life form that consumes and feeds on people to grow in size/strength. This particular art design is unique only to this one and only release years ago in France and hasn’t been duplicated since.
Most importantly, this poster features Steve McQueen, and there’s nothing cooler than Steve McQueen. I mean, he’s the only actor to do his own stunt driving, and the only man to frighten Bruce Lee. Granted, it was based on McQueen’s driving of Mulholland Dr. with Lee sitting shotgun, but…
