I don’t know what material the balls are made of but I dropped the 3rd ball and
can say with 100% certainty the balls WILL break!
My grandmother had this on a shelf as a decorative piece. I never saw her using it as a punch bowl or for food storage!
The exact year of creation is not stamped anywhere that I can see.
Looking online, others have noted around 1960. (But that is only from outside sources)
