Zony Mash is an experimental Jazz band fronted by Hammond B-3/keyboardist Wayne Horvitz, the founder of Pig Pen, which has included John Zorn & Bill Frisell as members. Zony Mash was formed in 1995 and was the unofficial house band at Seattle's OK Hotel for several years. They were also signed to Knitting Factory Records and released 3 records there. On this live recording, the band plays originals with a few well-chosen covers that mix elements of avant-rock, Jazz, funk & San Francisco sound. It's modern Electric Jazz/funk at it's finest.
