For sale is a 7X15 inch framed display honoring D-Day with three 4X4 matted areas, one features a photo and a small piece of original wood from the USS Texas BB-35 which famously flooded herself during the battle to get elevation for her guns as she bombed Omaha Beach. The Texas was a World War I era New York Class battleship that served through WWII until 1948 earning 5 battle stars. Today she is a museum ship. The second matted photo is of the invasion toward Omaha Beach and sand from the beach has been attached to the card. The third area features a photo and a small piece of wood from the HMS Rodney (29). Originally in reserve, she was ordered to support Sword Beach during the invasion, however, she is more famous as one of the ships that went head to head with the legendary German battleship Bismarck and helped sink her. Each piece is in a 0.6 X 0.6 inch square centered in each picture. Includes an LOA and copies of docs we have, like COA from USS Texas.
